Meet Dr. Emily Andresen
Education and Training
I graduated from Stanford University in 1998 with a degree in Psychology and earned my masters and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium in 2008. I have been licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of Washington since 2011. My license number is PY 60194237.
I use therapy techniques, know as Evidence Based Practices (EBP), which are supported by the latest scientific research. I use these techniques while focusing on how primary relationships and past trauma may have influence your current functioning. I have received extensive training in the following psychotherapies:
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

About Me
I live in Seattle with my husband, my two boys and our dogs. I love movies, music, kitesurfing, being outdoors and traveling.
Clinical Experience and Teaching
I have a wide range of clinical experience working with adult clients in both the Behavioral Medicine Clinic and Depression Research Clinic at Stanford University School of Medicine, the National Center for PTSD at the Menlo Park VA as well as the Depression Center at the University of Colorado Denver. In addition, I have worked in community mental heath, and have significant experience working with high school and college students through college counseling centers and a Job Corps counseling center.
In addition, I have 15 years experience in secondary and higher education teaching psychology to both high school and college students. I also have a deep commitment to women’s mental health, and co-directed an overnight women’s retreat for five years which focused on mental health, relationships and women’s empowerment.
